What to Wear
dancing to the wonderful music of the Ragtime era. The dances
from 1900 to the 1920s are easy to learn and all levels of dancers
are welcome. Be sure to attend the pre-ball workshops during
the day, where Cathy Stephens will teach you the basic steps
youll need to dance all night. Music for the ball will
be provided by the Huron Valley Serenaders.
We encourage you to come in period dress from the early
1900s through the 1920s. (Period
dress is not required.)
Preregistration is preferred.

||Basics Workshop: Stepping into
the Ragtime Era. - Practice the basic steps youll need
for the ball and dance to delightful period music. For all levels
|1:30 - 3:00 p.m.
||Intermediate workshop: The Dawn
of Jazz Age Dancing. A look back to 100 years ago when the
dances of the ragtime age were changing after the World War I
Armistice and transitioning into the jazz dances
of the 1920s. The focus will be on the late teens and early 20s
versions of the One Step, Foxtrot, Blues, and Tango.
